about an eternal place
there is a rich, eternal place where Jesus calls us daily to enter...to stay...to make our home.
in this eternal place, He tells me i don't ever need to leave.
having tasted of His Presence, i am awed that this Wide Place is where I am to live life from, moment by moment. i am no longer alone--always in company with the very Source of Living Water.
one of my favorite passages is John 7:37-39...
"Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
we were made to thirst and drink. we were made to come to Him for the filling we all long for. Jesus describes true life with Him: He is ready to give us RIVERS of living water, far more than a creed we adhere to, far more than information that we agree with. He paints us a picture of what real living and believing look like--a heart overflowing with His rivers of living water, where we daily drink deeply of Jesus. until we can say that this describes our relationship with Him in ever increasing measure, there is always much more of Him He calls us to press into. let's take up His invitation and enter in...
centuries ago the Great Day of the Lord was repeatedly prophesied about in the Old Testament. and it is on this Day that we will be unveiled to really SEE Jesus... Jesus, in all His fullness...Jesus, with His great power...Jesus, full of glory. we will be awed by His love and His peace will surpass the skies. More than we have ever conceived, we will see His holiness to be purer and His greatness will bring us to our knees in humble adoration.
daily, each of us writes a new page in our life stories. and somehow our stories fit supernaturally into His Story, as revealed to us all in the Bible. the certainty that today propels us one day closer to that promised Day fills me with living hope. it makes the pain and suffering we experience in this life worth it and one day it will all finally make sense.
an eternal place is my attempt to capture pages from my story. i hope you will be encouraged as we journey together. may you engage with Jesus more and more as you write out new pages in your story.
since all of life is sacred, the topics covered in an eternal place stretch across many aspects of daily life. i love how the mundane and normal mingle with the high calling and privilege of loving Jesus as we express love to our families and others around us. specifically, they range from these categories:
* spiritual lessons and musings
* worship songs i've written
* discipleship
* healthy recipes we enjoy as a family
* natural remedies that use for basic health care (essential oils and Shaklee supplements)
* our nutrition focused home-based business
* our family's favorite books (too wonderful not to share)
* golden nuggets for homeschooling
* my love for bright and cheerful colors which make me think of God's beauty and make me smile
* organizational and life management discoveries that have helped me climb out of my mess
oh, and a little about me:
i LOVE Jesus.
i am so richly blessed to be married to a godly man who loves Jesus, too!
i am mother to 6 children: they range from young teen to toddler (our second lives in heaven, since 2002).
we're on our 9th year of homeschooling based on Charlotte Mason's educational philosophy.
we use amblesideonline.com from K-6 & heartofdakota.com for 7-12.
we raise Brownie the guinea pig and Robin the turtle.
lately, my favorite past time is songwriting, which has eclipsed my love for sewing and handcrafting.
i blog a lot about our baby who was born with multiple birth defects (malformed organs): laryngeal cleft type 2,
tracheoesophageal fistula, esophageal atresia, duodenal atresia, hydrocephalus with vp shunt, chiari 1 malformation of the brain,
and a few other dx... he delights the hearts of us all and is the life of the party! he loves to sing worship songs to the Lord.
you'll catch him singing phrases on his own such as "faithful Yahweh," "go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born,"
"silent night, holy night" "hallelujah, it is finished! Christ is risen! Christ is born!" warms the heart and turns it toward Jesus.
Jesus carries us on this upward hill toward HOME, being face to face in His Presence.
